The Boxx Company

Congratulations! Your company has been selected to make candy boxes for Sweet Exhibits. Your job is to create a one-layer box that can hold candy shaped like chocolate kisses. The box making machine at your company can only accommodate 12 x 18 sheets of paper. To create a mock display, you will need to create a box with a bottom, four sides, but NO lid. Your Boxx Company will present a proposal to Sweet Exhibits Candy Company in order to be chosen to make this box product. You will need to create a multi-media presentation including a jingle to help market your product.

Please remember the following tips:

*   The box machine only makes boxes with straight edges.

*    Your company’s engineer will need to find the area of each of the five sides of your box.

*    The material used to create the box costs $.01 per squared inch. Your company’s accountant will need to calculate the cost of making the box using the engineer’s figures.

*    There is no need to bring a sample of the box. Sweet Exhibits is only interested in the final presentation that includes your research on box making and costs.

Your presentation should be creative and original.  You are expected to add some of your own information.
