If you know which animal you are interested in finding information about, you can use this search engine. http://environment.about.com/cs/endangeredanimals/ This is a big listing of websites for Endangered Land Animals. They list many different animals from cheetah to wolves! http://www.bagheera.com/inthewild/vanishing.htm Bagheera in the Wild is a good place to look for finding out about the different endangered species. Remember to NOT choose any insects or reptiles. http://www.pbs.org/sahara/wildlife/wildlife.htm This is a PBS site all about wildlife in the Sahara Desert. There are even video clips of animals that you can watch. http://library.thinkquest.org/25014/how/index.html This is a thinkquest website that was made by students like you! You can find out if we can save endangered species and how to help. You will also read how zoos and preserves are trying to help. If you want to write a letter to save an endangered species this site will help. http://www.nps.gov/ever/ed/edmammal.htm This is a site that has information about the mammals that live in the Florida Everglades. It lists the animals that are endangered also. http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/glossary/gloss5/biome/ This will help you find information on the different habitats in the world. At this site they refer to habitats as biomes. http://www.cotf.edu/ete/modules/msese/earthsysflr/biomes.html You will find more information about the different habitats here. The list is on the right side of the page. Just click on the habitat that you want to learn about. http://mbgnet.mobot.org/sets/index.htm This site includes information on the wetlands that the other two sites do not have. Remember to cite ALL the web sources you used. You can go to this site and see how it is done. http://www.yahooligans.com/tg/23.html This is the Yahooligans page for second and third grades to use when citing their sources. |
