Interesting Iguanadons
By Maddi

Did you know the Iguanadon was the first dinosaur to be discovered?  How whould you like to be Mary Ann Mantell who was digging in her back yard and just happened to come across the world's first dinosaur?

The Iguanodon is a herbivore.  It eats  plants, such a palms and ferns.  Some scientist think it had a long tongue like a giraffe.

The Iguanadon's predators are T-rex, Megalosaurus, and Allispinaz.  It protected itself with it's clasw-like thumbs.

The Iguanodon lived in the early Cretaceous Period, which was about 110-135 million years ago.

An Iguanadon laid eggs.  It may have taken care of it's babies while they were young. In this area, scientist still have a lot to learn

The Iguanandon may still be around today. Some people think the Iguanadon eveloved into the common Iguana.  Now what would Mary Ann Mantell think of that!
